AFPA relies on people like you to find the resources it needs to sustain its ongoing projects and implement our projects in Haiti. Whoever you are, wherever you are, and regardless of your skills, you are welcome to be part of this effort, which aims to make a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of women living in rural communities across Haiti.

There are multiple ways in which you can get involved. You can make donations, fundraise, volunteer, spread the word, or invite others to join in, or make donations. When you invite families, friends, co-workers to contribute, you provide them with an opportunity to change lives and make the world a better place for current and future generations of women and girls who desperately need our solidarity.  Moreover, you help us build a network of supporters to our programs and various in rural Haiti. Any small contribution you are able to make on behalf of disenfranchised women and girls living in rural Haiti can turn their hardships and despair into hope and comfort. Rural women and girls have pressing needs in

    • education (primary, secondary, vocational)

    • adult literacy

    • digital literacy

    • health care (women’s health)

    • livelihoods skill

    • farming skills (agroforestry)

    • land conservation

    • entrepreneurship (small and medium enterprises)

    • community leadership

All over Haiti, there are hundreds of thousands of girls living rural communities who don’t even have access to basic education. For girls who are lucky enough to attend a primary, the major will drought out before they reach the 4th grade. Meanwhile, rural boys are more likely to complete 6 years of education and even attend middle and high school (secondary school). With so many girls growing up without an education, they cannot break the cycle of discrimination, oppression and endemic poverty without the support of people like you

We implore individuals and organizations (associations, institutions) to support the education a rural girls in Haiti to foster gender equality and reduce entire communities from poverty. Providing education to girls will certainly have a positive impact over the whole Haitian society. As the old African  saying goes: “If you educate a man, you have educated one person; I if you educate a women, you have educated a whole village.”
